Land Rover Series 3 converted to 2.0L Perkins TDI

Really great looking classic Series 3 Land Rover converted to Perkins 2.0L TDI. The Perkins conversion was done by the previous owner but has been done properly using all the right parts. The chassis is in excellent condition. The Land Rover was subject to a full body off restoration 3 years ago by the previous owner.

Body work is very tidy. It was stripped back to bare metal and resprayed a few years ago, it's not perfect but pretty good. Bulk heads have been repaired with new panels.

The front brakes have been converted to Zeus Engineer disks and callipers, the pedal box has been replaced with a later series 3 type. And servo plus a new master cylinder from a 110 so it has the correct set up of disks front/ drums at the rear. As this was a series 3.

There are no nasty cut outs made in the front wing. Also fitted a new mechanical air pump to the Perkins to connect to the servo.

New longer wheel studs were fitted so the wheels aren't hanging on by their nails! Conversion was done professionally by a local Land Rover mechanic.

Rear brakes were overhauled including new shoes and cylinders, copper brake pipes and hoses. Generally various seals, lighting parts, vents etc have been changed. 5 really good tyres on after market wheels. I have a set of 110 wheels which I planned to restore. These come with the truck if you want them. Recent new fuel tank and sender. Seats are black series 3 type which are in good condition. Heavy duty rubber floor mats. 12 months MOT (done on 08-02-2016).

The dash top has a couple of small splits from sunlight damage (normal for a series 3) which are taped over. The interior is good but could do with a little tidying in places. The fuel gauge is erratic and could do with sending off for repair. The headlining is original and has no rips or tears. To sum up this is a pretty looking Classic 88 Safari model Series 3.

It is a really good serviceable Land Rover and drives very well for it's age. The engine has been converted to the desirable (and reliable) Perkins TDI, can get 35+mpg, has big servo assisted front disks. It's not perfect, but really, really nice condition.
