ENGINE 200TDI fitted new timing belt rear crankshaft oil seal reconditioned injectors good oil pressure. (see photo) Mitsubishi inter cooler with temperature adjustable electric fan, new alternator.
TDI radiator with oil cooler. Smokes slightly on start up (as they all do) but soon clears when warm.
Strait thought exhaust (not over noisy) New n/s engine mount position, tubed through chassis, o/s uses original chassis mount with custom made bracket. Series 3 diesel engine rubber mounts. GEARBOX Series 2A box new reverse gear fitted with new clutch/pressure plate and new gearbox mounts , box works fine in high/ low , ham fisted neighbour started pulling and pushing the selectors pretending to drive so now 4WD selector needs reconnecting at box (means floor/ tunnel out and its too cold) one of the few jobs that need doing. AXELS Front fitted with LWB brakes, rear has series fully floating half shafts 3.45 Range Rover diffs all new copper brake lines all new slave cylinders new LWB master cylinder. Front axel has parabolic springs and gas dampers.
Rear springs also very good no rust or sagging. TYRES 5 Avon Traction Mileage good tread depth with the spare unused on std rims. STEERING All new track rod ends Original Steering wheel with Bakelite dip switch and horn correct steering column, reinforced with bracket on bulkhead.
ELECTRICS Multi fuse box fitted and all new purpose made loom , removable indicators , washer bottle, needs wiper motor (supplied) fitting. Battery cut off switch , battery located under seat.Original D lamps new bulk head side lamps. TO DO LIST Fit front prop shaft , fit wiper motor, reconnect 4wd selector. EP 90 to front diff and swivel housings.
I have had a recent hand operation making these jobs a little to much and as I said it too cold. I would leave it as is and try and recreate an old finish to the wings and bulkhead (I still have the tatty original wings in same paint as vehicle). I have had various Land Rovers over a 20 +yrs period this was to be an attempt at getting an 80" that I could keep up with modern day traffic having had a 2 litre 80" prior to this one I found it very trying to go any distance but my interest has waned. I feel now is the time to move on and get a classic car. So its up for sale it could be taken back to original and I have many of the parts not the engine or box they have gone as donor organs to someone who wanted originally.
